WiiWare is an online portal created by Nintendo mainly for its Wii video game console. This online portal permits independent game developers to make their own types of games which can later be downloaded by Wii owners.

As of this moment, there are already plenty of games on Nintendo's WiiWare platform. Almost all of the games are cool however there several games that are considered the coolest and belong to what is called “must-have games”.

LostWinds

LostWinds is a game developed by Frontier Developments. It was released May of 2008 and since then has become a popular game. It is not like the other games developed by Frontier Developments that are character-driven. It is distinct as it comes with an unusual central gameplay element which is the wind. Enemies in this game can be defeated by making some leaps to the high ledges or by completing tricky puzzles.

Defend Your Castle

Defend Your Castle is a game developed by XGen Studios. It was released May of 2008 and from then on has been very famous to kids of all ages. As the title of the game implies, the castle in the game should be defended. Enemies in this game are the barbarians and can be defeated by setting demolition men and archers against them or grabbing them with a mighty, strong hand and afterwards throwing them upwards.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King is a game developed by Square Enix. It was released May of 2008 and since then has been known as one of the coolest games for kids, teens, and even young adults. This is a fun game allowing you to be a king in one great kingdom. By playing this game, you will know how it feels like to be a ruler. You have a lot of obligations which include managing of troops and building up town centers and ramparts. This game is more on simulation rather than action role-playing. And the greatest challenge you need to overcome as the king or ruler – build a kingdom in the heart of a desert.

The Nintendo Wii game console has been very successful because of its features. It contains some internal features made available from its firmware and hardware components. The firmware can actually receive periodic updates through the WiiConnect24 service while the hardware allows extendibility via expansion ports.

The great menu of the game console is also a contributor. It is a top level menu interface. It has 4 pages each with a 4 by 3 grid, with each pages displaying the current time as well as date. The applications or known to everyone as "channels", are navigated by use of the Wii Remote and are displayed in grid. Good thing, the grid is customizable which allows users to move channels amongst the menu's 47 customizable slots. However, this is not possible with the Disc Channel.

With these channels you can play Wii and GameCube titles, create an avatar, view photos, download games and other software, and listen to weather forecasts and some news.

In the next category, the Downloadable channels, there is the Internet Channel, the Everybody Votes Channel, the Check Mii Out/Mii Contest Channel, the Nintendo Channel, the Television Friend Channel, the Digicam Print Channel, and the Fortune Telling Channel. With these channels, you can surf the net, vote in simple and fun opinion polls, share Miis and enter them into popularity contests, watch videos, check what programs are on television, import digital photos, and view fortunes.

Finally, in the category Additional Channels, there is the Wii Fit Channel, the Mario Kart Channel, the Daigasso! Band Brothers DX Speaker Channel, and the Wii Speak Channel. With these channels, you can install a Wii Fit Channel, install the Mario Kart Channel, connect a game to a Wii console, and chat online

Because of the massive discussions on the internet with regards to the giant company Nintendo showing some early presentations of its next home console hardware, many are wondering if next generation of Wii Console, successor of Nintendo Wii, will soon be really released.

The said next generation of Wii Console is said to hit the market by 2011. It is believed that it will be the true “next generation” Nintendo console and will actually be far more than a simple refresh of the present hardware. Therefore, possibly, it will provide high definition visuals giving importance on digitally distributed and backwardly compatible content.

However, although many are now waiting for the new generation console from Nintendo, apparently the console that will be the successor of the very successful Nintedo Wii, Nintendo has not confirmed if there is really new generation console to be released soon. Thus, if there is really a new generation or not, it remains unknown. One thing is just sure, Nintendo Wii has been doing great on the market and so because of this, a lot of people now wants a next generation of Nintedo Wii console that could be far better and more enjoyable.

One possible reason also why a lot of people are speculating they are going to release soon the next generation of Nintendo Wii is because the company is now believed to be spending more money on their research and development than five years ago. Thus, it is believed that because of this increase in expenditures on research and development, possibly a large project is on the line and it could possibly be the successor of the Nintendo Wii.

There are a lot of Nintendo Wii units on sale online, in particular in eBay and Amazon. Units are either brand new or unused or already used.

Shopping online is actually a good way to save money, time and effort as you don't anymore have to go and search for units in every store, considering too that units are oftentimes are out of stock.
